Self-Evaluation It was mostly my stress and anxiety that had weakened my speech. Despite the fact that I practiced numerous times before the presentation, I still had a hard time overcoming my nervousness when I was giving my speech. I was not able to use as much hand gestures and facial expressions as I had expected to. Also, unlike what I had planned, I did not manage to present without using the podium. Moreover, my voice lacked various tones throughout the whole speech, although I practiced putting different emphasis on words and changing my voice tones.
In spite of the fact that I had some weaknesses, I was still satisfied by some parts of my speech. For instance, I did manage to make lots of eye contact with the audience, although it wasn't easy. Also, I thought that I maintained a good pace throughout the speech, without rushing or slowing down. In addition, I took some effective pauses and didn't stutter as much as I thought I would, which satisfied me the most. Although my presentation wasn't perfect, I was still quite happy with it, because I did much better than I thought I would. From this presentation, I learned that I shouldn't worry as much, because anxiety only affects me negatively.
